Airplane training
The history of flying is a short one, yet the power of being able to fly has been in the dreams of mankind for countless generations. Even Leonardo de Vinci, who lived in the second half of the fifteenth century, made drawings of flying machines. Of course they never flew, because we had to wait another 550 years until technology came along that would permit it. Which makes us wonder where we will be another 500 years hence. Well, we’ve already landed on the moon, so I guess the sky’s the limit, or rather the Universe is the limit. Which brings us back to airplane training. Flying is still considered to be somewhat of a specialist occupation – indeed it is one.
Airplane training takes time and is extremely costly. Modern airplanes encompass the computer more and more, so much so that it is possible to fly a jet liner from London to New York without putting one’s hands on the wheel. However, until the day comes when all airplanes are 100% operated by computers, we will need pilots to be trained.
There are more than thirty airplane training establishments throughout South Africa, and they can be found anywhere from Port Alfred to Messina. If you happen to be a resident of Gauteng Province, you don’t have to go far to find the best – it’s located at Wonderboom Airport not far from Pretoria. You’ll find the Flying Schools there, and they are, without doubt, the best airplane training organisation in Gauteng.
