The Intoweb eTraffic solution can provide web site statistics
for each of our clients, but only if the site is being hosted
by us. The stats provide you with all the relevant information
regarding the activity on the website. The information below
explains how it works.
A unique visitor is a user that has made at least 1 hit on
1 page of a website during a specific time frame. If the unique
visitor visits several times during this period it will only
count once.
Visits mean exactly that, how many times a user visited the
web site. When a unique IP accesses a web page, and then requests
three others without an hour between any of the requests,
all of the pages are included in the visit, therefore you
should expect multiple pages per visit and multiple visits
per unique visitor (assuming that some of the unique IP addresses
are logged with more than an hour between requests)
The Intoweb eTraffic solution can provide web site statistics for each of our clients, but only if the site is being hosted by us!
This relates to the time a visitor spends on a web site.
Some durations are unknown, because they can't always be calculated.
Sometimes the visit wasn't finished when an update occurred.
This is the first page of the web site viewed by a visitor.
Note that when a visit started at end of the month and went
onto the beginning of the next month you may have an entry
page for the month report, but no exit page, causing the entry
page to be different from the exit page.
This will be the last page of the website viewed by
a visitor during its visit. Note that when a visit started
at end of the month and gone on to beginning of the
next month you may have an entry page for the month
report, but no exit page, causing the entry page to
be different from the exit page.
The number of pages logged. Only files that don't match
an entry in the Not Page List config parameter (and match
an entry of only files con fig parameter if used) are
counted as pages. Usually pages are reserved for html
files or cgi files, not images or other files requested
as a result of loading a page (like js,css... files).
Spiders are responsible for indexing web sites. Different
search engine have different Spiders. Google uses a page rank
system for the central basis of its indexer. It gives a higher
priority to site linkage.
Manipulating Google used to be nearly impossible. However,
with the advent of link programs and link schemes it's possible
to drive up web site rankings. The more links you can generate
on the net the more successful the site will be. Google spiders
constantly index its database to obtain the latest information.
The Infoseek search engine indexes pages
with its spider Sidewinder. It only indexes the web
sites that have been submitted. Infoseek gives the highest
priority to keywords in meta tags. Shorter titles are
better! Also note that the the repetition of keywords
are penalised.
A browser is a
program that allows you to view and navigate through web sites
on the Internet. There are various browsers available today,
for example Internet Explorer, Firefox and Opera.
The AWStats provided by Intoweb will allow you to see what
Operating Systems your site has been viewed on. There are
many operating systems available today, for example Windows,
Linux and Unix.
